Carboncopies Foundation Impact Statement: Advancing Whole Brain Emulation & Computational Neuroscience
Impact at a Glance: 25+ Workshops Conducted, 12+ Collaborations Established, 10+ Publications Released, 150+ Volunteers Engaged. 'Together, we are working tirelessly to advance whole brain emulation, opening doors to transformative breakthroughs in brain health and more.' – Dr. Randal Koene , Founder , CCF
Resource Allocation Overview: Finances support operations, education, and research. Our team’s effort spans daily contributors, interns, and focused collaborators. Together, they power Carboncopies’ mission.
The Sun Never Sets on the Carboncopies Foundation. Contributors from 5 Continents, Advancing the Mission Around the Clock. Our global community includes: (Computational) Neuroscientists, Programmers, ML / AI, Philosophers (philosophy of mind), Writers, Web developers, Event organizers, Ph.D. Candidates, Interns, Students at every level.
Success Stories & Testimonials: 'Carboncopies was the only organization I came across that approached reverse engineering the brain from first principles of complex, near-critical systems. Their scientific rigor uncovered key problem areas to WBE which in turn guided my career decisions through the neurotech sector.' - Samuel Hosovsky, Entrepreneur and CCF Workshop Attendee. 'I was actively involved with the Carboncopies Foundation, with a particular interest in the ethical challenges posed by future technologies, and also served on the Board for a time. [CCF is] a well-informed, passionate group of individuals dedicated to ensuring that whole brain emulation and related technologies are developed ethically and for the benefit of humanity.' - Angela Thorton, Ph.D., dissertation in partnership with CCF & Horizon, Univ. of Nottingham
Future Goals and Plans: As we continue to grow, our commitment to advancing the community and driving innovation remains stronger than ever. In the coming year, we aim to: Launch & publish our groundbreaking BrainGenix “Brain Emulation Challenge” research platform. Expand our journal clubs and global events to foster deeper knowledge-sharing and collaboration. Launch an open-access Brain Emulation Knowledge Hub to make cutting-edge insights accessible to everyone. Strengthen collaborations with leading research institutions and industry pioneers. Identify and promote more funding opportunities to empower the community and accelerate breakthroughs.

What is whole brain emulation?

Whole brain is a technological protocol that may someday be able to reverse-engineer a biological brain in order to functionally emulate its neurobiological processes on a different substrate (or "platform"). Emulation will be done in a way that will generate the cognitive experience that was achieved by the original brain.

Our Vision and Mission

Our Vision: An expedited future where whole brain emulation benefits humanity and individuals.

Our Mission: To identify, facilitate, and conduct the research which will deliver whole brain emulation.

The Carboncopies Foundation is guided by a steadfast vision of an expedited future where whole brain emulation benefits humanity and individuals. We believe that the possibilities and opportunities presented by the science and technology of whole brain emulation are essential components for the most promising routes to overcoming our greatest challenges and fundamental limitations as a culture, as a society, and as individuals.

Your Donation in Action

Your donation is an investment in the future of humanity. It allows us to continue our groundbreaking research, develop new technologies, and build a global community of support for the science of whole brain emulation. With your help, we can unlock the secrets of the human brain and create a world where consciousness is no longer bound by biology.

Finances support our three pillars of activity: research, education, and operations. Your contribution powers Carboncopies’ mission to make whole brain emulation a reality.
